Above is a complicated pattern made at the January 2014 quilt retreat at Mariandale in Ossining, NY. Carole Burton made this wonderful top.
The next quilt retreat is scheduled at Mariandale for July 9-13, 2014. I so look forward to quilting 14 hours a day. Since I live close by, I commute. But my collies don’t see much of me during these retreats. I am madly quilting. Meals are provided. All I have to do is bring my sewing machine, fabric, thread, etc. Once I’m unpacked, I just commute. It is sheer quilting heaven. I’ve been going for years. The most stressful part is deciding what to work on. Each retreat offers a pattern but I’m usually working on my own projects. This year I’m working on a quilt for my niece Michaela, and two baby quilts for my other niece, Kristin, who is expecting twins in October. Yes, TWINS!
